Meet Michelle
Welcome, I'm so grateful you're here and I'm honored that our paths are crossing. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your life's journey! Iβm Michelle Chasen MA, LCMHCA, NCC founder and therapist at Gracefully Redefined Counseling and Wellness, PLLC.
The essence of my work lies in creating a relationship with you in which you will feel safe to engage in an inner journey home. Being able to walk alongside individuals as they make self-discoveries, heal, and grow is one of my greatest passions. I say βwalk alongsideβ because I believe therapy is a collaborative process where you feel safe, understood, and our shared insights light the way. It is my belief that in knowing ourselves, our wants, and needs, we can make choices that enhance, enlighten, and empower our lives.
I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Drexel University with a special emphasis on clinical psychology. I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor in North Carolina.
Get to Know Me
I am passionate about working with a population of culturally diverse individuals including children, adolescents, and adults. My clinical experience includes working with those who are facing challenging times due to anxiety, depression, attachment wounds, trauma, grief and loss, parenting/co-parenting, and relational issues. My theoretical approach is grounded in psychodynamic psychotherapy, trauma-informed care, as well as utilizing an integrative, holistic approach to emotional health and wellbeing.
I am a native of South Florida, Miami Beach, and have made Chapel Hill, North Carolina my home. I appreciate the change of seasons and when I am not working with clients, I enjoy exploring nature trails, cycling, Pilates, and yoga. I also love spending time with my husband, our son, and our pampered pup Charlie.
I welcome the opportunity of providing you with an empathetic, non-judgmental, and supportive environment to assist in gently moving you forward towards the life you envision, with passion and commitment. I look forward to working with you on your journey to experiencing a greater and more fulfilling life.
My Specialization
Many of us carry invisible scars from childhood trauma and unmet attachment needs, wounds that subtly yet profoundly shape our adult relationships and sense of self. You may find yourself trapped in recurring patterns of emotional pain, yearning for closeness while struggling to trust it. Perhaps youβve built walls around your heart for protection or feel stuck in cycles of self-doubt and fear of abandonment. These experiences can leave you feeling unworthy, unseen, and longing for deeper, more meaningful connections, not only with others but also with yourself. My passion is to help you gently untangle these wounds, explore the roots of your pain, and guide you toward creating healthier relationships and a kinder, more compassionate relationship with yourself. Together, we will uncover and transform these patterns, empowering you to redefine your story and build the secure foundation you deserve for a life rooted in authenticity, love, and purpose.

My Approach
As a mental health therapist, the foundation of my work is anchored in nurturing a meaningful relationship with you. Cultivating an emotional bond of trust, compassion, care, and respect; agreement on the goals of your therapy; and collaboration on our work together is essential. To begin gracefully redefining ourselves and our lives we must first identify what is no longer working. What if you were willing to explore the infinite possibilities of a renewed foundation being formed? Together we can tenderly uncover the parts of your life that are not working and empower you to create healthier changes.
